Mauritius - In The Limelight!

I was Looking For An Exclusive Destination - Mauritius Qualifies For Me!

When dreaming of a holiday destination where I could enjoy rich beautiful attractions, natural sites, superb ports and a coastal region filled with history and century old architecture, I could say that this small tropical island would rank high on my “Exclusive Destinations” favourites list!  A small island, yet…. so rich through its culture, friendly people and beautiful landscapes, that one could easily believe it to be a paradise on earth crafted by angels.

Royal Palm Hotel, Grand Bay
Mauritius, with approximately 2,000 square kilometres of land and its 177 kilometres of coastline, is a small island lying about 900 kilometres east of Madagascar and is the most developed of the Mascarene Islands and it not surprisingly that . The smells, noises and bustle of the capital Port Louis, Africa’s wealthiest city, are never very far away and the busy garment markets in the towns of Quatre Bornes and Curepipe and Black River Gorges National Park's dramatic virgin forests may give you the false impression that Mauritius is just another beach destination. But the beaches vary, from the stunning sand-rimmed lagoons and popular wide public beaches to the picturesque islands off the country’s coastline and you could truly say that there’s something for everyone here. Add to this the joys of Indian, Chinese, French and African cuisine, the rousing beat of séga music and the infectious party spirit of the locals, and you soon understand why Mauritius really is so many people’s idea of paradise.
Royal Palm Hotel,  Grand Bay

The resort town of Grand Bay is said to be the most popular destination on the island of Mauritius. This town on the north side of the tropical island is full of hotels, restaurants, shops and beautiful beaches. When visiting here, two of the most popular things to do, besides lying on the beach and soaking in the sun, are taking a catamaran trip or a submarine excursion. For those who want to rent their own boat and cruise around the Bay, there are many choices. For anyone who likes to go diving, there is also plenty of diving on the coral reefs that surround the island.

You do not have to wonder what time of the year you should visit Mauritius. Known as the gem of the Indian Ocean, this small "Paradise" is distinguished for its coral reefs and clear blue waters surrounding it and can be visited all year round, but the water sees at its clearest in the season between December and March.
