Romantic Amsterdam!

"Amsterdam is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe"

Amsterdam is one of the greatest small cities in the world. From its canals to world-famous museums and historical sights

Romantic Amsterdam!
I wonder whether if you were asked to name the most romantic cities in Europe, your thoughts would have gone more towards cities like Paris, London, Rome,Venice instead of thinking of Amsterdam, but it's undeniably true that Amsterdam is said to be one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe.

But there is more... Amsterdam is not only known as a romantic city, it is also known as a city of tolerance and diversity. It has everything you expect to find in a big city: culture, nightlife, international restaurants and good public transport, but in contrast to other large cities, it is also quiet and due to its extensive canals the city has less traffic than expected. In Amsterdam your destination is never far away, but to experience an authentic local experience you really need to get on a bike and explore the city by bicycle! Be warned... it will be an experience!

Amsterdam seems to change throughout the year and the seasons alter the environment and feel of the city. But just like the charming coffee shops and the occasional sleek city hotel, Amsterdam has an ever-present art scene well worth enjoying. You will find small galleries and large museums, all with their own distinct feel and which can suit every kind of traveller looking to be informed and inspired. The two most well-known museums being the Rembrandt and the Van Gogh museum. A visit to this city would not be complete without two things: staying in a sleek city hotel and an outing to the Van Gogh Museum. Arguably, next to the Rembrand Museum, one of the most famous museums in the Netherlands, perhaps even Europe, you can wander around this gallery all day and still find new things to experience around every corner. There are more than 200 permanent works of Van Gogh on display, covering all his periods of work, from landscapes, to still lifes, to portraits and rough drawings. Apart from Van Gogh, there are works from a variety of other artist on display like Dalou, Bernard and Monet, to name a few.

As mentioned before, Amsterdam is a multicultural and tolerant city, which accepts many different lifestyles, has plenty of sex shops, mainly in the Red Light District and in its direct neighborhood, or around the Rembrandtplein. Several of them are uniquely addressed to gay or lesbian people.

Although one cannot get past the fact of mentioning the Red Light District and the sex shops as a tourist attraction when writing an article about Amsterdam, I would like to think that this romantic and beautiful city has much more to offer in the way of sightseeing than the two tourist attractions mentioned before.

For fervent shopper Amsterdam is a great city. Beside its reputation of being the city of antiques, books, diamonds and curiosities, Amsterdam has several “shopping corridors” in the city and each one has its own charms and specialties.  Apart from the great number op places of interest for sightseeing, Amsterdam is blessed with a great number of Luxury Hotels. Among them there are the old and dignified historic hotels as Hotel Krasnapolsky and Amstel Hotel, and the modern, international hotels like the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel and Okura Amsterdam, along with several other excellent, four- and five-star hotels. If you prefer smaller luxurious boutique hotels, then this is no problem.  Amsterdam has several of them, in different styles, atmospheres and price ranges. These luxurious hotels combine their new interior design ideas with a modern and refined service and portrait the new trend of the last decades. Many Amsterdam boutique hotels are truly unique, offering its visitors their true originality with genuine comfort and intimacy.
